North Korea unveils Kim Jong Un’s daughter at missile launch site

North Korea has revealed the daughter of ruler Kim Jong Un.

State-run media KCNA said Saturday that Kim watched the launch of a novel ICBM with his wife Ri Sol Ju and their “beloved daughter” on Friday.

The main newspaper Rodong Sinmun published photos of Kim watching a high-flying rocket with his daughter.

She is also pictured walking hand in hand with her father.

Her name and age were not given, but it is the first time state media have mentioned the daughter or published her photos.

South Korean media reported that Kim married Ri in 2009 and that the couple have three children, born in 2010, 2013 and 2017.

In 2013, after a trip to the capital, Pyongyang, retired NBA star Dennis Rodman told the Guardian that he was holding Kim’s baby daughter, Ju Ae.

Kim Jong Un has yet to anoint an apparent heir, and after he disappeared from public view amid health rumors in 2020, many speculated Kim’s sister Kim Yo Jong would step in.

NORTH KOREA FIRED BALLISTIC MISSILE LANDED NEAR SOUTH KOREA: SEOUL

The 38-year-old ruler said the launch of the Hwasong-17 missile – the country’s longest-range nuclear-capable missile – proved he had a reliable weapon to contain US-led military threats.

Japanese Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada said the weapon could fly up to 9,320 miles – enough to reach the continental US

The missile flew nearly 621 miles in 69 minutes, according to KCNA.

The UN Security Council will meet on Monday to discuss North Korea at the request of the United States, which has strongly condemned the recent launch.

Friday’s ICBM launch marks the country’s eighth test this year, based on a State Department tally.
