‘Extreme exaggeration’: Frydenberg opposes Morrison’s appointment as Minister

Former Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has spoken out for the first time against Scott Morrison’s appointments as minister, calling the saga “extreme hyperbole”.

Mr Frydenberg’s comments, detailed in a new book, come on the same day that former Supreme Court Justice Virginia Bell is expected to deliver the findings of a three-month investigation into the matter to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Mr Frydenberg says he doesn’t think Mr Morrison had any reason to take on the Treasury’s extra portfolio and was wrong that the former Prime Minister failed to make the decision transparent.
