A Colombian judge notorious for sharing salacious photos of herself on social media was suspended for three months this week for showing up half-naked and smoking in bed during a virtual court session.

The Judicial Disciplinary Commission in Norte de Santander ruled on Tuesday that Judge Vivian Polania violated several administrative rules, the Spanish-language news outlet reported Infobae.

Polania, 34, made national headlines last week when she emerged on a Zoom call while lounging in her underwear and puffing on a cigarette, during a court hearing related to a car bombing of an army brigade that took place in the city of Cúcuta in June 2021, the New York Post reports.

Video of the scantily clad judge quickly went viral, prompting the Disciplinary Committee to launch an investigation into Polonia’s NSFW presentation.

According to the panel’s 16-page decision, Polonia left her camera off for almost an hour before turning it on, revealing that she was in bed in a “deplorable” state, looking “disheveled with sleepy eyes” and slurring her speech .

When an attorney present at the hearing told the judge that her camera was on, Polonia quickly turned it off.

The committee said the decision to give Polonia unpaid leave until February came after it was determined she was unable to perform her duties due to disrespect for the parties at the hearing and the court dress code did not comply.

“Such a situation is not consistent with the care, respect and prudence with which a judge of the Republic is required to administer justice and indicates a clear lack of respect on the part of the official,” the ruling said.

Polonia broke her silence after the scandal sparked by the video, denying she was half-naked and claiming she had to lie down during the hearing because she had an anxiety attack and low blood pressure.

Speaking to Blu Radio, Polonia said she was extremely overworked, which led to her mental health issues. She also claimed that she had long been bullied and threatened with disciplinary action by her fellow judges in Cúcuta because of her dress.

Polonia was previously scrutinized for sharing risqué snaps of herself in BDSM-style outfits and skimpy lingerie, showing off her 37 tattoos to her Instagram page, where she had more than 30,000 followers until the account was deactivated this week .

In an interview with the Colombian outlet semestersaid the judge, when she first arrived in Cúcuta, she couldn’t bear to wear pants because of the scorching heat, so she chose to wear shorts and a t-shirt, but she said there were few people around her around was uncomfortable.

At the same time, she was discovering CrossFit, and training at the intense fitness regiment was changing her body shape, so Polonia took to wearing “long, elegant” dresses to work at the Palace of Justice.

But Polonia said her new fashion choices were also criticized for being too sexy, and she was told to cover up in court robes.

“I was tired of pleasing people for my peace of mind,” said the defiant lawyer.

Undeterred by the controversy surrounding the Zoom video, Polonia said she will not change her personality for others.
