Gold Coast robbery: Three men attacked after a replica gun was pulled from the ute

Police bodycam footage has captured the moment an allegedly hidden replica handgun is pulled from a ute after an alleged attempted robbery of a Gold Coast shop at gunpoint.

Three men have now been charged with multiple offenses following Saturday’s alleged incident in Coomera and will appear in court on Monday.

In severely blurry footage released by Queensland Police, the officer conducting traffic control along Yawalpah Way can be seen shining a torch down the ute that same night.

“I had an incident involving a vehicle with a partial overhaul that matches yours, do you understand me?” the officer is heard saying.

“And it’s about a gun. So make sure you keep your hands where I can see them or I will be very unimpressed.”

The officer is seen extracting and inspecting the alleged replica gun before loading the man into a waiting police car.

Police allege the attempted armed robbery took place when three men entered a shop on Celestial Way at 8.20pm on Saturday.

One of the men is said to have pointed a gun at employees while demanding money.

It is further alleged that the trio damaged property before physically attacking another employee and then fleeing in a vehicle.

A 27-year-old Inala man, a 39-year-old Hillcrest man and a 26-year-old Dinmore man have all been charged with theft, walking on premises, attempted armed robbery and assault while they were armed and on business

All three will appear at Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
