A mother was criticized for cutting up her daughter’s pajamas in the middle of the night and blaming the elf.
McKenzie Taylor from the UK took her child into Elf on the Shelf, a game where parents hide an elf figurine in various places around the house in the run up to Christmas.
The mum has documented what she makes the elf do in various videos – but it was her latest clip that angered many online users.
In it, she showed her sleeping daughter cutting holes in her pajamas.
The mother had to make two attempts when her daughter woke up in the middle of the whole ordeal.
She then blamed the elf – and her daughter looked incredibly upset that her nightwear had been destroyed.
Some saw the humor in the clip, while others criticized the mother for her actions.
“Someone saved this kid,” commented one user.
Another said: “Poor girl is going through this.”
“No, because I cry when someone cuts my pajamas,” said another, condemning the act.
“Too far – the girl will get scared of the elf,” added one commenter, while another said this is the girl’s villainous origin story.
Some said they took inspiration from the clip and did the same to their child.
“PLEASE MAKE MORE OF THIS!! OMG I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING AT THEIR REACTIONS,” said one excited fan.
Another simply said, “I do this to my kids.”
