Brittany Higgins shares Christmas gifts from hundreds of fans

Brittany Higgins has shared a series of photos from her Christmas Day celebrations, including touching gifts.

The former political worker was recently awarded a confidential settlement by the Commonwealth Government over her intention to sue for sexual harassment.

The rape charge against Bruce Lehrmann was dropped last month after his trial was thrown out over jury misconduct and a retrial was dropped after prosecutors believed Ms Higgins’ mental health risk was “significant.” and unacceptable” risk to their lives.

Mr. Lehrmann has vigorously denied the allegation.

Now the recently graduated Griffith University alumni has shared a heartwarming series of photos with her 57.6k followers to thank them for their “overwhelming” support.

“Merry Christmas! I was so overwhelmed this morning after being inundated with letters of solidarity and support,” she shared on Christmas morning.

“Thank you to everyone who wrote – expect a reply in the mail early next year!”

She thanked the team at the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at the Australian National University for “hand-checking every letter.”

“I will forever be grateful to you all,” she said.

“From my family to yours, sending lots of love and well wishes this festive season x.”

Ms Higgins recently announced her steps towards a new career in business after graduating with a double degree from Griffith University.

The former political staffer revealed that she will be studying for a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Sydney.

Ms Higgins shared the news on Instagram, saying she’s “officially an @sydney_uni MBA student”!

On Wednesday morning, ACT Attorney General Shane Rattenbury and Chief Minister Andrew Barr announced an independent inquiry into the Lehrmann trial.

When the announcement was made, Higgins responded with a short message to her followers: “Sunlight is the best disinfectant”.

In a statement released on his behalf by his legal team shortly after the announcement, Mr. Lehrmann said he welcomed the investigation and hoped it would be thorough.
