Double demerits aim to discourage speeding in the busy holiday season

New South Wales Deputy Police Commissioner Brett McFadden says double faults are in place to “deter” speeding in a busy summer season.

There have been four deaths in New South Wales since the beginning of the Demerit Period.

“These are families experiencing the loss of loved ones,” McFadden said.

“We really need the community to work with us to make sure they’re safe.”
