How do I protect my child with my iPhone?

Apple has a Family Sharing feature that allows parents to create a family group and add up to 5 family members with Apple devices.

Once your group is created, you can set up parental controls for all children in the group and enable controls like screen time monitoring and the Ask to Buy feature, which requires parental permission to purchase or download apps.

Here’s how to set up Family Sharing on your iPhone

  • open yours settings apartment
  • Loss your name
  • Go two family sharing > Set up your family

  • Press Continue
  • Choose family members you want to invite
  • To create an account for a child, select Create child account below and enter their name and date of birth

How to set up parental controls on your iPhone

Once you create a Family Sharing account and child accounts for your kids, you can enable different parental controls on their Apple devices.

  • open that settings apartment
  • Loss screen time

  • Choose This is my child’s iPhone

  • Select the Age your child and the parental controls you want to keep on your child’s device and select Turn on restrictions when done

How do I protect my child with my Android?

Like the iPhone plan, Android devices come with a family group feature that allows a family manager to add up to five people. The only catch is that the family member must be at least 13 years old to be added to the group. People under the age of 12 can only be added if the family manager creates a Google Account for them. This can be done during the setup of the child’s Android device.

How to add family members to your android

  • open that Google Play app
  • Tap the tea profile icon top right
  • Go two settings > family > manage family members
  • Loss invite family members and choose who to invite
  • Press Send

How to set up parental controls on your Android

  • open that google play apartment
  • Tap yours profile icon top right
  • Go two settings > family > child lock
  • Switch child lock
  • set restrictions for each section you want to turn on parental controls for, including Books, Movies, TV, Apps, and Games
