A mother-of-four has revealed how she lost a whopping 30kg in just nine months.
Sascha Farley said that finding a program that worked for her and changing her exercise routine to help reach her fitness goals helped her.
She decided to join The Healthy Mummy’s 28-day weight loss program and has been sticking to her weight loss for five years now.
She had previously tried things like intermittent fasting and restrictive calorie counting, but it didn’t help as she said her confidence was at an all-time low.
“I didn’t think it was possible to enjoy a healthy lifestyle, so I figured it’s always deprivation and punishment at the gym or dissatisfaction with one’s body, so I couldn’t find a balance between the two. I didn’t have this knowledge and training,” said Sascha.
She said that increasing her protein intake has helped her towards her goals because it boosted her metabolism, regulated hormones and reduced her appetite.
She said changing up her exercise routine has also helped her, realizing that every little bit helps.
“Whether it’s the type, the time, the effort – it’s true, we’re conditioned to things we do consistently over a long period of time, so ‘shock’ your body and you’ll get a reaction! Strength training is amazing for changing your composition,” she said.
She added that things like setting a baseline, like three workouts a week, will help you feel more motivated as you hit those goals.
Things like parking farther away from shops or the school drop-off also make a difference.
It also helped increase her water intake by taking small sips throughout the day, having something every two to three hours and having a smoothie twice a day.
“Having a Healthy Mummy smoothie for breakfast and lunch was amazing when I did it. It accelerated my results as I knew exactly what I was eating and they were so filling, packed with protein, vitamins and minerals. I used the chocolate Snickers recipe so I’m still getting my calories,” she said.
She said that swapping out her favorite things for healthier versions that she might be craving also helped on her journey.
“I find when I have a balance, I have better results because I don’t binge as much or overeat,” she said.
“Consistent balance is better than trying to be good all week and overeating all weekend! I eat a piece of flourless chocolate cake every day!”
Now she said her confidence is at an all-time high and it’s coming from her improved health and energy levels.
