Cardinal George Pell’s approach to the Church’s teachings divided people because he was a staunch defender of Catholic values and set a different tone, says EWTN News’ Vatican correspondent Colm Flynn.
“In an interview I once did with him with the BBC, he said he felt he had done himself a disservice in life,” Mr Flynn told Sky News Australia.
“He was always viewed as a defender and took a very hard line against the teachings of the church in Australia when he was bishop there.”
