An urgent recall of a popular men’s hygiene product has been issued amid fears it could explode.
On Thursday, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) announced that three variants of Jack The Barber’s body spray range had been recalled.
The body spray deodorant cans sold nationwide in Woolworths stores in the Rebel, Nomad and Rogue fragrances are at risk of bursting or exploding.
“The bottom of the body spray can is not sufficiently constructed to withstand extreme pressure and could rupture or explode,” the ACCC said.
There are concerns that the bottom of the can could rupture due to heat or pressure – for example if left in a hot car – and could injure people or damage nearby items.
The affected products were sold in Woolies stores from September 18 to December 20, 2022 and contain batch codes such as 22I071, 22F302, 22J181, 22F301, 22H311 and 22F281.
Consumers who have purchased any of the products are advised to dispose of them safely immediately.
They can then take their receipt to the point of purchase for a full refund.
